First of all, hello and welcome to my blog. As i am a huge Cardiff City fan, most entries shall be about the team i have grown up watching whenever i could persuade my grandad to take me to matches. I will offer opinions and hope to interview my heroes who pull on the shirt week in week out and fans much like myself who travel the length and breadth of the country to support our team.
The first time i experienced going to watch Cardiff was was in 1997. It was a the first home league game of the season and it was against Notts County. If my memory is correct we drew the game 1-1, don't ask me who scored because i was only 5 at the time! I remember sitting in the Family Stand with my grandad and looking over to the Grange End thinking "that will be me one day". I did not expect however to get hooked on wanting to go down to Ninian Park every weekend even at the tender age of 5, to see how we would cope against teams like Exeter and Rochdale. I even remember going to see us play Scarborough. How times have rapidly changed!
As the years went by me and my grandad started going more regularly to games. We attended what we could and i forever hold him in debt for introducing me to going to watch football matches. I remember sitting in front of a radio in my mum's work listening to the FA Cup draw in December 2001 wondering who we would be drawn against. "Cardiff City, will play, Leeds United." To say i hit the roof was an understatement! This was without doubt the biggest game i was going to witness. Lowly Cardiff City of Division Two we're playing top of the Premiership Leeds United. The first thing i did was ring my granddad begging him to get us tickets to watch this massive game. All of a sudden, my dream was shattered. He was on holiday on the date we we're set to face off with top of the league opponents. I felt as if i told Santa wasn't coming this year because I'd been a bad boy, it truly crushed me. However, when one door shuts, another opens. I was given a lifeline by my friends who hadn't felt the atmosphere at Ninian Park before wanted to go down for the game. After days of consistent begging, i was allowed to go to the game with my friends, the first time we had ever done this.

So the day came. Mum dropped me and a few friends off at the train station and then we we're on our own, not a clue what we we're getting ourselves into. As we got on the train it was jam packed, couldn't move from the moment we got on until the moment we got off at Ninian station. Of course we couldn't drink so we just went straight into the ground and onto what was to become my new home of watching Cardiff City, the Bob Bank Terrace. The game went as soon as it came and the next thing i knew we had just pulled off one of the most historic results in our history. Even when i was there i knew i was witnessing a great night for the club. Looking back on the game it just feels like one massive blur to be honest. But i do know that it was, and still is, one of the best memories of my football watching memories.
Thank you for taking the time our to read my blog. Any feedback will be hughly appreciated.
